The OBBRFC travelled to Truro, Nova Scotia last weekend to participate in the Annual Truro 7s World Indoor Championships, also known affectionately as “Rugby Christmas.”

The Beavers have made this an annual staple tour for several years running, but this year the Club went out in force, introducing a touring Banshees squad to Truro 7s for the first time. A number of Beavers and Banshees also played on other teams in the tournie, including the Carleton University Men’s team and Team Purdelicious, which meant that the OBBRFC sent over 30 players to the Hub of Nova Scotia for the weekend. Huge.

All OBBRFC teams and affiliates started off strong with a clean sweep of our games on Day 1, but we couldn’t keep the momentum going into the second day of the tournament, and all teams eventually reached their elimination by the end of the evening.

The rugby was great fun, but the social side…. well… it’s difficult to summarize the amount of life-altering fun that is our annual trip to Truro 7s, so we will break it down an oft-cited line from our very own Arnie Bitz: “Truro changes you.”
