Our weekends are jam-packed with rugby these days, and the Junior Beavers haven’t even had their first game yet.

This weekend, the Senior Banshees kicked off first, taking on RCM in Montreal on a field with puddles deep enough to swim across. The Banshees proved that they weren’t afraid of a little water, rolling over the opposition’s scrums, stealing line-outs and not getting yellow cards all across the pitch. Banshees took the match 36-7.

Beavers IIs then hosted the Westmount IIs back home at Twin Elm. The IIs put on a solid show, taking the game and the W with a score of 32-12. Junior Beaver Wil Hanbridge earns a big shout-out for his debut on the Senior squad.

The Beavers Is lost to the division-leading Westmount Ravens in an absolute nail-biter.

The Junior Banshees travelled to Brockville to take on the Sirens on Sunday afternoon. Although they were packing pretty light for numbers (for some very legitimate reasons – Eid Mubarak folks!! OH, and did we mention that several Jr Banshees made the Rugby Ontario Provincial Hub?!), Brockville was happy enough to avoid a third game in a row where their opponents forfeited. In turn, they were more than willing to lend us a player or five to even out the squads. It was a hard-fought match for the juniors, who are eager to get the full team together and host Brockville back at TERP as soon as possible. Dame of the Game goes to Kishia, while the Hardest Worker nod belongs to Molly. Hannah also earns herself an honourable mention for repeatedly saving our bacon on the wing.
