Over the past month, Rugby Ontario has been hosting try-outs across the province to roster its junior men and women squads. The final try-outs were held in Kingston last Sunday, and we are proud to announce that several members of the Beavers and Banshees junior teams made the final lineups.

Specifically, Junior Banshee Sydney Weatherall made the roster for the u18 Women’s Development Team. Pierre-Hardy Gouombas and Brayden Gray of the Junior Beavers were both selected for the u17 Men’s Roster.

We are extremely proud of our players for their success and wish them the best of luck as they travel to Calgary in August for the Canadian Rugby Championships.

We would also like to mention that Junior Banshees Katie Christie and Scarlet Page were selected for the u16 Women’s division of the Ontario Eastern Hub following the try-outs in Ottawa in June. We’re hopeful that they’ll compete again next summer and crack that provincial roster!

You will also note that there will be a few fundraising initiatives (such as the chili lunch on Club Day) that aims to provide a bit of support for these players, as representative rugby is very expensive. If you would like to assist with these initiatives or make a donation towards these players, please contact Lee Ann Napiorkowski at leeann.napiorkowski@gmail.com.
