Lots of travel for the OBBRFC this weekend.
The Junior Banshees went to Brockville for a Friday evening matchup. It was an extremely close game that had its share of back and forths, but the girls fell 25-15. It should be noted that the girls lost 110-0 in Brockville last summer, so the improvement the girls have been making is huge.
The Senior Banshees took a quick trip out to Kingston to take on the up-and-coming Panthers. Although their lineup is riddled with injuries, the women have been putting their lessons at practice to work, and they played some of their strongest and most cohesive offensive play of the season.
The Senior Beavers 1st XV went to St-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, armed with a little scrum training from Beavers alum Eric Howard. Howie’s magic touch worked wonders and the men absolutely dominated the scrums against a much larger pack. A lot of big contributions came from our subs, and also Shaggy made it back onto the first XV starting lineup after a few years.
The Junior Beavers also went to Beaconsfield on Sunday for a hard-fought matchup. The boys played a hot game and ground it out against some much bigger opposition, but came up a few points short of the win.
